Validation, encouragement, empathy and active listening
Companion services at the bedside during a hospital or nursing home stay to reduce stress, loneliness, and confusion patients may experience
Involving and liaising with the person living with dementia, their family, and carers, to communicate concerns and explain procedures
Modeling a person-centered, strengths-based approach to promote a shift in care (from a deficit-based mindset and task-centered care)
Regular updates to family members and/or carers
